GRID Expands Esports Widget Offering with Game State

GRID has launched Game State, a new component of its Widgets product suite, aimed at enhancing real-time engagement for esports fans and betting operators. Built for mobile-first environments, Game State delivers live match data through a streamlined interface and is designed to support pre-match and in-play igaming activity.

The launch comes ahead of two major esports tournaments in June—CS2 Major Austin and VALORANT Masters Toronto—both of which are covered by GRID through its official data rights partnerships. Game State is powered by official data from titles including Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, League of Legends, VALORANT, Rainbow Six, and PUBG.

Game State provides sportsbooks, media platforms, and fan-focused services with a single integration to access live match statistics, player movements, heatmaps, team and player images, and win probabilities. The product supports modular viewing, enabling flexible use across devices and formats, with a particular emphasis on vertical, mobile-friendly layouts.

GRID’s rights-holder agreements allow the use of official team branding and player likenesses, a feature positioned to enhance authenticity in betting and fantasy environments. According to the company, the new tool is intended to boost player acquisition and retention by enriching in-play betting experiences through greater data transparency and visualisation.

This product rollout further develops GRID’s igaming offering, complementing its broader ecosystem of data-driven services, including GRID Data, GRID Stream, and GRID Insights. Game State is now available to all GRID partners globally.

“With Game State, we’re bringing scoreboards, stats, maps, and momentum into a single, sleek experience — optimized for mobile, and purpose-built for the way esports fans and bettors engage today,” said Mikael Westerling, Chief Sales Officer at GRID.
